Erdos & Morgan releases the first Double Database of their proprietary Financial Advisor Media Outlook and Usage Study (FAMOUS)

In keeping with our tradition of producing exceptional niche syndicated market research studies, Erdos & Morgan is proud to produce the Financial Advisor Media Outlook and Usage Study (FAMOUS). FAMOUS was first launched in 2013. Unlike most studies within the professional investment community regarding Financial Advisors, this study provides unique insights into the thought process and preferences of Financial Advisors with regard to media consumption and knowledge of ETFs and Fund Families. The first iteration of the double database for the Financial Advisor Media Outlook and Usage Syndicated Study will be released on May 16th, 2022. 

The main purpose of this double database is to provide greater statistical stability when extracting granular information from the study. The data is based on results from the 2020 and 2021 editions of the study. 

The basis for projections of the Financial Advisor universe in this study is the annual SEC Compilation Reports for both SEC Investment Advisers and State Investment Advisers. The sample is compiled and drawn to reflect firms by number of advisors employed. 

In order to better understand these professionals, the study provides the profile of the Financial Advisor. This includes investment options, uses and knowledge of various types of ETFs, compensation models, level of independence within their firm, type of clients (high net worth, individual, institutional, etc.), certifications and views/usage of different fund families,

The study takes a comprehensive approach to measuring media brand usage across different platforms by Financial Advisors. There are approximately; 30 different publications, 60 different websites, 9 different networks with over 35 individual programs and 7 social media platforms measured. For social media platforms, FAs were asked which, if any, they use professionally vs. personally. This study also evaluates mobile media as it relates to the use of applications (APPs) on smartphones and tablets. 

Datapoints within the study can be cross referenced to help find opportunities and bring greater efficiency to marketing efforts and media planning.
