The survey targets a universe of approximately 32,000 senior managers on the buy side of investment firms that manage $100,000,000 or more in investments. The survey sample for the project is selected from the Thomson Financial/Carson database.

In addition to Title/Function and Type of Company, the survey results cover the following areas:
- Opinions about various worldwide financial issues
- Geographic markets/areas followed for investments
- Anticipated financial performance (ROI) for each area followed
- Proportion of funds invested overseas and restrictions on such investments
- Opinions about best performing and worst performing economic sectors
- Types and value of funds managed/influenced
- Readership of a roster of daily newspapers and magazines
- Utility of the publications that are read.
The database for the study is stored online with IMS, New Age and Telmar, enabling sponsors to run cross-tabulations of the marketing information and reach/frequency media planning schedules for the measured print publications.
